Everybody has seen the Hong Kong skyline. The task was to make people feel it again — the harbour at first light, the ferry piers at night, the tram lines and market streets that live between the postcards. One destination film, and a photography library built to carry a full campaign.

The brief
Hong Kong is the most photographed skyline in Asia, which makes originality the whole job. Every location had to be shot at the one hour it looks unlike the stock library — and the set had to work across billboard, broadcast and social without re-shooting.
Our approach
We built a shot schedule around light rather than geography, moving across the city over several days to catch each location at its own hour. Tilt-shift and long-lens compression give the images a miniature, deliberate quality; the grade holds cool harbour blues against warm street neon.
Destination film
Hong Kong, From First Light
The campaign film. Harbour, streets, trams and skyline cut from dawn through to neon.
Photography
City series
Fourteen frames from the campaign library — piers, promenades, skyline and street level, shot across multiple districts.

“It made a city we all know look unfamiliar again.”
